The gruesomely funny trailer for Ash vs. Evil Dead, starring a much older Bruce Campbell, has been released and it looks just as entertaining and fresh as we would have hoped for. Premiering on Starz this Halloween, "Campbell [returns]to the role made famous by Sam Raimi's original trilogy of films. The trailer also showcases Ash's supporting players, including his sidekick Pablo, played by Ray Santiago, and the more mysterious Ruby Knowby, played by Lucy Lawless," Entertainment Weekly reports. And Campbell isn't the only original player coming back for the TV series, "director Sam Raimi is helming the first episode and will continue as an executive producer alongside long-time partner Bob Tapert," Irish Examiner says. The combination of the two has fans highly anticipating the release in the fall and now from the looks of the trailer, who could resist this shocking sequel.

Since it has been a few years, the series will follow our favorite character -- Ash -- who is described as off-the-grid character and pulled back into duty to fight the demons that he has combatted before that still plague Earth. Although it is unclear how Lawless's character comes into play there is a rumor that her character might believe that Ash is the source of this plague. The first season of the show is supposed to run on Starz for ten episodes and there's even rumors that a second season might be in the offering!

The show even getting started is a huge thanks to Bruce Campbell fans seeing as the first season of Last Fan Standing turned out so well and now Yahoo! News says, "a second season is being offered through a unique Kickstarter campaign, launching today." Campbell even talked to Mlive about how they even planned to take on another sequel to the Evil Dead series. He said that they realized there was a demand, but that they "didn't think Evil Dead needed to be a $100 million dollar project. I had been doing a lot as a TV actor and director, so we decided to do it from a TV perspective. The key thing was to find a suitor, like Starz, so they wouldn't mess with the show a lot. It's an unrated series, so that fit with what we needed." It seems like they've all really thought this through and that fans and possibly new viewers alike will be enjoying the show for a few seasons!
