'The Flash' Season 2 Cast: Will Violett Beane's Jesse Quick Fight Demore Barnes' Tokamak?

With the first season cliffhanger leaving audiences hanging, the CW network has made two casting announcements for Season 2 of The Flash. Will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) meet another speedster, Jesse Quick (Violett Beane) and fight another villain, Tokamak (Demore Barnes)?

In our first season recap, Barry Allen as he awake from his coma, after being struck by lightning. Given super-speed powers, Barry belonged to small group of friends, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), who know his secret identity. They worked together against super villains, including Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), and teaming up with the Arrow (Stephen Amell). But they never realized their true enemy was lurking within their ranks, the Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh).

According to TV Line, Violett Beane has been tapped to play DC Comics accelerator Jesse Quick. Appearing in multiple episodes, Quick (Beane) is a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between the scarlet speedster and the Season 2 Big Bad, Zoom. In the DC Universe, Jesse Quick is the alter-ego of Jesse Chambers, the daughter of Golden Age heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle.

As Comic Book reports, Demore Barnes has been cast as Henry Hewitt, aka the Firestorm villain Tokamak. Hewitt (Barnes) is described as "a charming, but cocky scientist who was affected by the same Particle Accelerator explosion that created the Flash. When Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) recruits him to join the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, Hewitt jumps at the opportunity to fulfill his destiny as a powerful meta-human."

Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) might have double trouble. Will Firestorm have to deal with Caitlin Snow turning into Killer Frost and fight Tokamak?

Season One ofThe Flash arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray September 22, 2015. The Flash returns for Season 2 on Tuesday, October. 6, at 8/7c.
