With the first season cliffhanger leaving audiences hanging, the CW network has made a major casting announcement for Season 2 of The Flash. Will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) end up in a race to save his friends against the DC Comics super villain, Zoom (voiced by Tony Todd)?

In our first season recap, Barry Allen as he awake from his coma, after being struck by lightning. Given super-speed powers, Barry belonged to small group of friends, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), who know his secret identity. They worked together against super villains, including Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), and teaming up with the Arrow (Stephen Amell). But they never realized their true enemy was lurking within their ranks, the Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh).

We mentioned before, Teddt Sears (Masters of Sex) actor will play the recurring role of Jay Garrick, the Silver Age Flash. Viewers caught a glimpse of Jay's iconic winged helmet in the first season finale. In his arrival, Jay is a mysterious figure who warns Barry Allen (Gustin) and his team at S.T.A.R. Labs about an impending danger that he alone cannot stop.

According to Variety, The Candyman will be heard as the voice of DC Comics baddie. Zoom will menace our hero and the others in the beginning of episode two, "Flash of Two Worlds." The producers intend to draw out the mystery of Zoom "like a horror movie - 'who's the killer? Who's under the mask?'"

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teases, "Last year, with the Reverse-Flash, we just modulated Tom Cavanagh's voice, and this year we wanted to do something a little bit different. Part of the mystery of the season is who or what is underneath the Zoom outfit, and so we wanted to do something like James Earl Jones as Darth Vader - this iconic voice coming out of this mask. Last year, we thought of the Reverse-Flash as a speed warrior; this year, Zoom is like a speed demon, and no one does demon-voice better than Tony Todd."

Kreisberg mentions their new baddie is like the Marvel super villain, Venom, "The Zoom outfit is much more organic than the Reverse-Flash suit. In a way, it's hard to tell if it is a suit or alive... There's no skin showing, for all you know there's a robot underneath, or dark energy."

Season One ofThe Flash arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray September 22, 2015. The Flash returns for Season 2 on Tuesday, October. 6, at 8/7c.
