While in Europe, promoting his sneakers, KD8, Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant has been answering plenty of questions in interviews. One of the questions he answered was regarding his all time starting five and his answer was a true NBA dream.

And as it turns out, according to NBC Sports, Durant's starting five includes Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan and Shaquille O'Neal.

Here's his reasoning (which was taken from a Spanish interview from NBA Maniacs and roughly translated by CBS Sports): "Well, good question, said Durant. "I would stay with Magic Johnson as a basis for their exceptional height, vision and be a triple-double machine. As guard Kobe Bryant is a legend and five-time champion. It's been half-life in the NBA! Michael Jordan like three. Sorry for Larry Bird, but I have to let him out for Kobe. As a power forward is difficult, between Karl Malone, Tim Duncan ... I stay with Tim Duncan . For longevity, the securities and the impact it has had and still has on the court. And Shaquille O'Neal as a dominant center."

That's definitely an impressive starting five! Now, of course KD meant he would consider each of these players as a part of his all time starting five as each player played in their prime (which unfortunately would be in different eras). At least some of the greatest NBA players in history managed to make it to KD's list, though others didn't (including "the greatest player in the history of NBA" as many claim him to be, LeBron James). KD also made it a point not to include himself, which would be something probably only Michael Jordan (or perhaps, LeBron James) would do. It seems like KD is aware of the fact that his talent is being held back due to his unfortunate injuries.

Apparently KD wanted his starting five players to be a part of the late '80s - '90s era, as opposed to the pre-'80s and/or the current era of basketball. We guess the pre-'80s was too ahead of his time, and the current era just isn't good enough.

At least KD did create a strong and formidable squad! (Though the combination of Kobe with Jordan and Shaq all in their primes could definitely be a bit problematic...)
