'American Heist': WATCH Hayden Christensen, Jordana Brewster DVD/Blu-Ray Clip On Release Date!

Lionsgate Home Entertainment releases American Heist on DVD and Blu-Ray. Arriving on its official release date, check out the this clip from the crime thriller starring Hayden Christensen (Jumper), Adrien Brody (The Pianist), Jordana Brewster (Fast and Furious 6), and recording superstar, Akon.

According to Entertainment Online, the plot synopsis followsJames (Christensen) and his older brother Frankie (Brody). The two brothers end up getting caught after committing a crime together. Sacrificing himself, Frankie takes full responsibility for the crime and is sentenced to 10 years in prison. When James discovers his brother is already out, Frankie has no money and no place to go.

Needing a quick solution, Frankie turns to his underworld connections. Because he took the rap for him, Frankie convinces James to join him for this one last job. But will this be the solution that could change both their lives? The captivating crime thriller was a 2014 Official Selection at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival, as well as the New Orleans Film Festival.

As The Wrap mentions, American Heist also happens to be the first feature from Christensen's newly-formed production company Glacier Films. The Shattered Glass actor and his production company already have financing in place and plan to produce 11 movies. We look forward to seeing what movies come out over the next three years.

In a video interview with Tribute, Christensen describes the brotherly themes, "Exploring that bond..they are bothers. I have a brother. The brother bond is meaningful to me but camaraderie as well, between a larger group. If you're not surrounding yourself with the right people, it can go very wrong with you."

The Blu-ray and DVD include a behind-the-scenes featurette, entitled "Creating a Complex Caper: Pulling off American Heist."

American Heist arrives on Blu-ray and DVD September 8.
