Gabrielle Union discussed her pregnancy troubles with Redbook magazine, as the Being Mary Jane star revealed she is having difficulties making a baby. The 42-year-old actress landed one of the covers of Redbook for their Oct. 2015 issue, where she opened up on her struggle to get pregnant at a later age with her husband Dwyane Wade.

“So far, it has not happened for us. A lot of my friends deal with this. There's a certain amount of shame that is placed on women who have perhaps chosen a career over starting a family younger. The penance for being a career woman is barrenness. You feel like you're wearing a scarlet letter,” she told the lifestyle magazine.

On top of speaking on her difficulties with conceiving a child, Union also opened up on what it’s like to be married to a man is fairly younger than her, and how the age difference impacts their relationship:

"I realized his friends, his teammates, were conceived when I was, like, a senior in high school. I was in high school at the same time as their parents! Sometimes he'll be like, 'Oh, my God, he's so old!' about someone who's 35. But, Dwyane's an old 33, and I'm a young 42, so it balances out,” she revealed to the magazine.

Union and Wade have been married for just over a year now, as the two walked down the aisle in a beautiful castle ceremony in Miami last year. Wade already has two children from a previous relationship, and recently had another son while he was reportedly on a relationship break with Union back in 2013. The scandal became the center of headlines for weeks, which also was right before Wade proposed to Union, and the two became engaged.

To see Gabrielle Union’s full spread with Redbook, the issue hits newsstands tomorrow.
