Adrian Grenier 9/11 Instagram [PHOTO]: ‘Entourage’ Star Under Fire for "Unpatriotic" Post

Adrian Grenier made a controversial tribute to the 9/11 anniversary in an Instagram post, one which put the Entourage star under fire this past weekend. The 39-year-old actor took to his social media account to repost a graphic of a phrase that criticized the war on Iraq following the tragedy that destroyed the Twin Towers in 2001.

The photo on his page read, “R.I.P the 2,996 Americans who died in 9/11," below an image of the Twin Towers. It ended with, "R.I.P the 1,455,590 innocent Iraqis who died during the U.S. invasion for something they didn't do.”

Quickly, followers and users took to his page, giving him tons of backlash for the post, calling him “unpatriotic” and “disrespectful” for giving attention to the victims of the war on Iraq on the anniversary.

It didn’t take long for Grenier to remove the photo from his page, replacing it with four more photos to tribute to 9/11. One showed the destruction site of where the World Trade Center used to be, while another showed two couples kissing on cars that were parked in front of a view of the buildings in the background.

While speaking with E! News back in 2011, Grenier commented on what happens when people speak on very sensitive world topics and issues:

"When you see the woes of the world and you try to take on too much and you're operating from a sense of arrogance and trying to preach to the world, thinking that you have all the answers, it can be very destructive. You become an extreme activist as opposed to recognizing that the true solutions and the true changes happen with all the little mini shifts that occur within everybody,” he commented.

Despite him replacing the photo with more to tribute to the day of American mourning, fans are still continuing to rip the actor apart on his page, writing statements of them no longer supporting any of his past or future work. Even some of those involved in the military and the war have been commenting on the posts with disgust, or even making strongly-worded threats if they come across him in person.
