NIVEA, the German skin and body care company, released a new marketing campaign commercial turning innocent bystanders into wanted criminals for its "Stress Protect" deodorant brand. These individuals being put through this "stress test" have to deal with his or her picture being advertised as "wanted" on fake newspapers, news broadcasts and the intercom system while sitting in an airport. Hilarity and mounting stress ensues. How do you think you would do in this situation?
As you can see there is a happy ending to each person's "test" but up until that moment, this "prank" seemed horrifyingly real. Even the other bystanders sitting around the targets were in on it, pointing at them and talking about how they are clearly who the authorities are looking for. I was getting stressed out just watching this video on YouTube, thousands of miles away from this German airport. Basically, this marketing campaign is amazing and gets the attention it wants for the "Stress Protect" deodorant. Oddly enough, as soon as the man dressed as a security asks the girl is she is stressed, I was immediately relieved that the tense part of the advertisement was over.
NIVEA purposely tried to "stress out" these people with this marketing campaign, but also said they had checked with the friends of the marks to see if "a brief moment of stress would not be a problem" for him or her. So imagine you are in an airport and all of this happens to you only to have it revealed to be for a deodorant brand. Now guess who was responsible for this terrible experience: Your friends. This is kind of a weird thing to take into consideration when most people tend to keep some medical conditions secret from friends. I will tell you right now that I have no idea how much stress any of my friends can handle and they have no idea how easily I get stressed.
Considering this is a big marketing campaign, what do you think will be the next "prank" that NIVEA tortures some poor Germans with? How about these:
These ideas are honestly stressing me out and are kind of more scary than stressful. What ideas do you have?
