Earlier in the week, the outspoken, talented and always entertaining Nick Diaz was hit with a five-year-suspension from the UFC, not for performance enhancing drugs, but instead, for having marijuana in his system. The Nevada State Athletic Commission deemed that since Diaz is a repeat offender, the long block of time away from the Octagon is the only just punishment. In a world where fighters get far less time for getting popped with steroids, vocal members on twitter, Ronda Rousey and now comedian and podcaster Joe Rogan have jumped to the aid of Diaz. At a press conference this week, Rousey said the suspension wasn't just at all and today, Rogan went on Twitter to call bull on the NSAC's ruling.

In one tweet, Rogan called the ruling an abuse of power by the NSAC. "Idiotic" and "sickening" were some words he used.

Rogan then went on to say that unless there are studies claiming marijuana gives an unfair advantage to fighters, there shouldn't be any restrictions on it.

The UFC color commentator's most defiant tweet thus far came when he put the number for the NSAC on his Twitter. Rogan is calling for people to call them and say they're unhappy with the decision.

On Facebook, Diaz blamed the NSAC for putting him in a position where he isn't able to reach the potential he knows he can reach. They have cost him several opportunities with past suspensions and now, if he is forced to sit through the full five-years, this could be the death knell of his career.

"So this sport and this commission have done everything to stop me from being in the position that I belong. That's the only reason why I haven't stayed in that position and come off as the fighter and person that I know I am and can be. They suspended me for a third time," Diaz said. "For five f***ing years for something that makes the whole world a better place. I've been investing in that understanding from the beginning. And I'm not going to start being someone that I'm not. Honestly, I wanted to get up and walk out on the third question, but I didn't do that. Now I have to deal with that. These guys advised me not to do that."
