Just when you thought that a new season of The View would bring an end to those pesky cast firing rumors, it was being reported that a new addition to the team could soon be packing her bags. While Michelle Collins was a welcomed breath of fresh air to the round table, it is being speculated that she could be the first one out from Season 19. Last year, fans saw as the three new women who joined the panel, Rosie O'Donnell, Rosie Perez, and Nicolle Wallace were let go, one-by-one, from the cast roster.
However, ABC maintains that they are happy with the addition of Collins to the cast, as they explained to Radar Online, "Michelle is a great addition to the show. She is talented, smart and has a very bright future at The View."
Yet, the confidence that the network has in Collins didn't stop an insider from telling the news site that the funny lady was on the chopping block.
"ABC is looking to get rid of Michelle," a source explained to the news site. "She has not been testing well with viewers for weeks, and they've been trying to find an excuse to cut her."
Well if they needed an excuse, they definitely found one, as the program has been in a bit of hot water after some of the panelist spoke poorly of the Miss America pageant earlier this week.
We previously reported that some key advertisers has even pulled out of the talk show following the nurse scandal that erupted last week.
ABC maintains that they love the work that Collins has done on the program and are looking forward to her future on the network. Michelle even tried her best to fix the controversy on Wednesday's show last week, where she tried to diffuse the whole situation.
Watch Michelle try to smooth over the issue in the clip below:
"We love nurses . . . We adore you. We respect you." - The View co-hosts respond to comments made earlier in the week about a Miss America contestant.
