October 2015 looks like a great month of new releases hitting movie theaters. We decided to share a list of our top five most anticipated October movies, highlighting the following releases that you can go and watch in theaters this month: The Martian, Pan, Steve Jobs, Crimson Peak and Freeheld. The Martian (in theaters Oct. 2)

Ridley Scott's highly anticipated film starring Matt Damon as an astronaut stranded and surviving on Mars sometime in the future it the must-see movie of the month. The world comes together to save this unlucky survivor, but it'll take years for a rescue. Watch a trailer for this new movie right here:

Pan (in theaters Oct. 9)

Hugh Jackman is Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund is Hook, Rooney Mara is Tiger Lilly and newcomer Levi Miller is the iconic Peter Pan in a Neverland retelling from director Joe Wright. Steve Jobs (in theaters Oct. 9)

Michael Fassbender takes on the role of the Apple Computers founder and i-Generation icon, the late Steve Jobs. Written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle, this biopic is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Watch a trailer right here:

Crimson Peak (in theaters Oct. 16)

Director Guillermo del Toro has mastered horror, making this gothic haunted house film one of the most talked about movies of the last few years. Watch a trailer for Crimson Peak right here:

Freeheld (in theaters Oct. 2)

Julianne Moore and Ellen Page star in this drama as a same sex couple that has to fight for their rights for marriage and benefits when Moore's character wants to leave her officer's pension to her partner.
