FX's 'The Strain' Season 2 Recap Episode 12: Are Corey Stoll, Mia Maestro In "Fallen Light?"

Season 2 of The Strain continues on FX. Based on Guillermo Del Toro's bestselling novels, published by Dark Horse Comics, in Episode 12, are Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) trapped in their own Fallen Light?

In a flashback, Eph is giving a speech, which attracts the attraction of Nora. He ends up offering her a job afterwards. In the present, Nora gets a call discovering Zach (Max Charles)'s grandparents are still alive. Eph doesn't to leave his son alone but he can't keep fighting his war at the same time. 

Eph holds his son tightly after Zach makes a call to his parents. In a flashback, Jim Kent (Sean Astin) argues with Eph because he's using Nora to get back at his wife. Even though Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand), Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas) chooses to leave him and be with Niki. Councilwoman Justine Feraldo (Samantha Mathis) ends up making the Mayor mad as he threatens to force her to step down. 

Gus (Miguel Gomez) and Silver Angel (Joaquin Cosio) end up working together on a mission. They end up in a prison and discover a guard locked in a cell. Gus ends up taking his security badge but leaves him to rot in his cell. Gus ends up freeing all the gang members from their cells and gives them guns. 

Abraham (David Bradley) and Fet end up passing a checkpoint to Alonso (Jamie Hector)'s gang territory. Abraham wants to buy the Occido Lumen that Alonso has. Unfortunately, Alonso isn't willing to give up the book because he's making money off of the vampire war. Abraham has 24 hours to bring in gold to outbid Palmer. 

After surviving a brief vampire attack, Gus and the gang make it out of the prison. Just as one of the gang members betrays Gus, Silver Angel pulls the trigger and kills the traitor. Abraham meets with Quinlin (Rupert Penry-Jones) for help with the gold. The Ancients don't trust Abraham but they want The Master dead.

Justine discovers that the Mayor has been murdered. As the police investigate Justine, she wants her right-hand to figure out who are the real culprits. Justine meets with Eldritch Palmer (Jonathan Hyde), who wants her to run for Mayor.  

At City Hall, Justine promises to stop the vampires at any cost. Thomas Eichorst (Richard Sammel) threatens Coco's life if he doesn't provide the funds for the Occido Lumen. Palmer discovers that he and Coco will die if The Master doesn't provide his white blood to them. Palmer knows he's being played but there is much more to come.

Dutch discovers Niki is planning on leaving. The two lovers kiss but Niki doesn't want to stay fighting a war that's not  hers. In a flashback, Jim, Nora, and Eph are all drinking and having fun. Jim is drunk when he says his friends look great together; everyone deserves to be happy. 

Eph tells Nora that his wife filed for divorce. He realizes that Nora that she does have feelings for him. In the present, Eph apologizes and tells Nora he still loves her. 

Quinlin wants Gus to convince Abraham to give up the Occido Lumen; or else kill him.
