Chris Brown is getting caught up in a scandal surrounding domestic violence, as the "Loyal" singer wants to "prevent spousal abuse" in Australia, giving him access into the country. The R&B crooner’s status of being able to enter the Land Down Under is still up in the air, as he may reportedly be banned after his history of domestic violence with ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

While officials are working on getting him banned for his upcoming tour dates, Breezy offered to help raise awareness on domestic violence during his trip out there, and is receiving a fair amount of backlash for his comments on social media.

“I would be more than grateful to come to Australia to raise awareness about domestic violence. I’m not the pink elephant in the room anymore,” tweeted Chris. “My life mistakes should be a wake up call for everyone. Showing the world that mistakes don’t define you. Trying to prevent spousal abuse.” Brown added, “The youth don’t listen to parents nor do they listen to PSA’s. The power that we have as Entertainers can change lives,” the singer continued on his own Twitter page.

Recently, there have been mixed reviews about Brown’s set dates to come to Australia, with Australia’s Minister For Women, Michaelia Cash, stating, “People need to understand that if you are going to commit domestic violence, and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you ‘you cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia.'”

In 2009, Brown was arrested and later charged with felony assault for reportedly attacking his singer ex, where he was sentenced to five years of probation, as well as court-mandated community service. He has received a Notice of Intention to Consider Refusal from the country regarding his upcoming trip to the country, but he has 28 days to come up with material for why he should be allowed to enter the country.
