NBA Hall-of-Famer, six-time champion and former Chicago Bulls power forward, Michael Jordan believes his Air Jordan sneaker legacy is bigger than his NBA career.

As reported by CBS Sports, just last month, it was reported that Jordan made more in 2014 from selling shoes than he did in his entire NBA career.

Now, although Jordan's career is still unmatched, as no other player in the league has ever managed to win six championship rings. Even though plenty of players consider themselves the greatest of all-time, Jordan still outruns them. But what's even crazier is the fact that Jordan himself admits that his sneakers have overtaken his on-court achievements.

"To me, it's much bigger than Michael Jordan. It's going to outlive me in terms of what I did for the game of basketball," Jordan told USA Today. "It's going to be something that's going to last for a while.''

There's no doubt that plenty of other basketball players (i.e. LeBron James, photographed below, and Kobe Bryant) have their own sneaker line, even deals with Nike, but no one can match Jordan's sneaker line.

"I can't explain it and no one can explain it,'' Jordan said in his interview with USA Today. "And if anybody could explain it or duplicate it, they would have done it by now.''

Clearly there is no competition in the basketball sneaker business as far as Jordan is concerned. Now, when it comes to the court, there's obviously plenty of competition and even though Jordan has made claims of being able to defeat any of the current "best players" in the league if he played them in his prime, the conditional clause, "if," will always remain.

Thus, Jordan actually beating any current "best player" in the league is merely a supposition, but as far as his sneaker legacy is concerned, MJ definitely holds the upper hand.
