Former WWE pro wrestler CM Punk won't make his UFC debut when we originally thought due to a new shoulder injury he suffered during training. His debut will now figure into the 2016 schedule after being pushed from a December 2015 date by the MMA company, but the delay is sure to disappoint fans looking forward to the highly anticipated fight. "We don't have a hard date for his fight to force the issue, so making sure he's completely healthy is possible," Punk's coach Duke Roufus told ESPN this week.

Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks, has no MMA training, but his high-profile signing to UFC is definitely one of the most anticipated fights in the history of the company. Expectations are high, but this new injury has put the brakes on fans' hopes so far.

"He's about at 50 percent. But that being said, remember that my 100 percent is a very well-prepared person," Roufus said, according to UPROXX. "The UFC will probably book him a fight three to four months in advance -- a guy of his magnitude. We're probably looking at a fight in the next six to 10 months. The injury throws us back one month. We had a ballpark. We were looking at mid- to late-spring. Now, we'll just have to see how he comes back from the injury."

Punk's rehabilitation is sure to be covered extensively leading up to his UFC debut. Let us know what you think of this news in the comments section below.
