Watch WWE 'NXT' Live Stream Online 10/14/15, No. 1 Contender Battle Royal for NXT Championship

The October 14, 2015 edition of WWE's NXT is tonight, and everyone is wondering how they plan to top NXT Takeover: Respect from last week? For starters, we've got a No. 1 Contender Battle Royal for Finn Balor's NXT Championship on tap this evening. After the NXT Champion and his friend and ally Samoa Joe emerged victorious in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament at Respect, they wanted to take the next step and compete inside the ring against each other for the NXT title. But rather than grant their request, General Manager William Regal chose to schedule a Battle Royal for the No. 1 Contender for tonight's broadcast.

It would be hard to make an argument that Samoa Joe doesn't deserve a shot at the belt. He was one of the best and most famous stars from the independent promotions, specifically because of his time in Ring of Honor. He has not lost a match since he signed a contract with NXT and debuted in May at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable. In that time, he has defeated wrestlers such as Baron Corbin and Rhyno. He's also close with Balor, and the two have a deep respect for each other even if the Dusty Rhodes tournament brought out some tension between the two.

The Battle Royal might make one think that someone other than Samoa Joe would emerge victorious, but he remains the best and most viable contender for Finn Balor's title. NXT has successfully told stories through face vs. face feuds in the past, most memorably in the title feud between Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville in 2014. The yellow brand has shown it can tell a nuanced and subtle story like this, so there's no reason to think they can't do it again with Samoa Joe and Finn Balor.
