Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant Wants Ownership of the Washington Redskins

Once Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant's career comes to an end in the NBA, the baller will have plenty of money in his bank account. With that being said, Durant knows exactly what he wants to do with all that money: he wants to own the Washington Redskins.

His aspiration of owning an NFL team, (once his NBA career is over, of course) has plenty to do with the fact that he's from Washington, DC.

In a recent interview with ESPN's Fantasy Focus podcast, Durant spoke with Matthew Berry and Field Yates about his plan to own an NFL team.

"My first priority would be the Washington Redskins, even if it was just a small percentage," Durant said. "I just want to get involved. Growing up five minutes away from the stadium and always being a fan, I have a Redskins tattoo on my forearm. So I feel part of the team so much, so to be an owner and all the way entrenched with the team would be cool."

Forbes recently valued the Redskins at approximately $2.85 billion. The Redskins are apparently the third-most valuabe team in the NFL after the Dallas Cowboys at $4 billion and the New England Patriots at $3.2 billion.

Durant has made more than $66 million playing for the Seattle SuperSonics and Oklahoma City Thunder. When he becomes a free agent next summer, the baller could possibly end up with a $200 million deal, if things work out in his favor. Now, Durant is also signed to a 10-year Nike deal, which could be worth more than $300 million. Plus, KD's got his eyewear line along with his new undergarments line with Neff. So, KD owning (even a small percentage) of the Washington Redskins is definitely a possibility.

Now, given the fact that Durant will be a free agent at the end of the upcoming NBA season, this aspiration may be hinting at Durant wanting out of OKC to become a part of the Washington Wizards.
