Last night's episode of Saturday Night Live had a number of memorable moments – most of which sat with comedian Tracy Morgan's return – but the one everyone seems to be psyched about is the return of another famed name, Larry David. The Curb Your Enthusiasm star showed up during the show's cold open to impersonate someone he's been said to slightly (but seriously really, really, really) resemble, Bernie Sanders.

SNL's opener mocked this past Tuesday's primary Democratic Debate, with newcomer Seth Rudnitsky acting as moderator Anderson Cooper. Upon having all of the nominees at their podiums – including 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin making a surprise appearance as Jim Webb – Cooper called upon the now famed Senator from Vermont.

And. The. Crowd. Went. Nuts.

There's been much comparison between David and Sanders in the past, and last night's appearance only proved that. The Seinfeld creator stepped up to the podium in sheer Sanders form, immediately taking on the impression perfectly.

"And now, if you don't mind, I'm going to dial it right up to a ten," David said as Sanders, and immediately delivered a very #FeelTheBern-like, "We're doomed! We need a revolution!"

So, folks, did you catch the cold open? What were your thoughts on it?

We're still waiting to hear what Bernie Sanders has to say. He had to have enjoyed it, no? Eh, who cares – we did!

Seeing David on SNL was not only exciting for what it was, but also because David famously worked for the show years ago, before Seinfeld, for one year. During that time he only had one sketch on the air and ultimately quit the show. Of course, after he realized how much money he was losing, well, he went back Monday morning.

Sound familiar?
