Based on the cult classic from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, El Rey Network continues Season 2 of From Dusk Till Dawn. In an exclusive interview with MStars News, Eiza González (Santánico Pandemonium) and Zane Holtz (Richie Gecko) discuss what's coming up before the last episodes of the season.

As we previously mentioned, Santánico (González) and Richie (Holtz) are outside of Houston, living like Bonnie and Clyde, while Seth (D.J. Cotrona) and Kate (Madison Davenport) are scraping by south of the border. Freddie Gonzalez (Jesse Garcia) protects his wife and daughter in a Houston suburb. As Carlos Madrigal (Wilmer Valderrama) and Scott (Brandon Soo-Hoo) emerge from ruins of the Titty Twister. They will all come together to face off against an even bigger threat, Lord Amancio Malvado (Esai Morales).

In our recent recap, with the death of Uncle Eddie (Jeff Fahey) on their heads, Richie and Seth storm the coveted stash-house but run into complications. After discovering Sonja (Briana Evigan) was really Malvado's partner, Seth has no choice but to kill her. Freddie was buried alive after Carlos ended up stealing the sacred artifact from him. With Kate being held hostage, Malvado offers his throne to Richie, who actually accepts in the cliffhanger.

Before the penultimate episode airs this Tuesday, October 20 at 9pm on El Rey Network, Holtz and González discuss their favorite moments from the sophomore season, the reunion of the Gecko brothers, and what's in store for viewers.

MS: Santánico has a different relationship with Richie, than with Carlos, and even Lord Amancio Malvado. Tell me about that aspect.

Eiza González: In the second episode, she's like leading. She's calling the shots, the punches. It's really badass! Richie is like, "Oh no, let's not eat civilians." Santánico is like, "No, we're going to eat civilians. We're going to bring civilians here." It's really cool that they make the characters clash. To be around men, who are super powerful in the show, and have women on the same level of power, I think as an actress, it is super fun to play.

MS: With Lord Malvado, Santánico seems to be obsessed with him as much as he is with her. And yet, Santánico manages to hold her own against him.

EG: The character goes through abuse. She goes through rape, She's literally a mule for awhile. It's like a version for blood mule for the vampires. This really causes crazy PSTD. You gotta be in that body.

You have to be in that body. I can't carry myself the same way on the character as I carry myself while speaking to you. The character has to have that heaviness to itself. This experience, this life that itself, believing it, makes you awake in your persona. I think I'm lucky to be working with Robert Rodriguez and really having a director that guides you towards that way.

MS: With Robert Rodriguez being hands-on with the show, do you feel your character has become a strong presence?

EG: I think it's Robert Rodriguez. I think he's never going to have his female leads to be that damsel-in-distress, as that victim. These women who understand their circumstances and they have been scarred, they always look forward. They're always like, "How do I fix it? How do I grow from this?" I think that's the moral compass between the two lead females. She [Kate Fuller]'s day and Satanico's night. Both of them are these badass women.

MS: For the past two seasons, you have been in the makeup chair for the vampire transformations. Tell me about that experience.

EG: I clearly remember this scene with Wilmer. He turns and does this thing with his head. That was just....you have to get that. The way you move...she's a stripper. You know those snakes when they play the music and come out an dance. It's kinda like that.

MS: The vampires on this show, the culebras, they appear to be more like snakes. Is that what you based Santánico on?

EG: She's that; the way she speaks to people, the way she touches them. We did study all those snakes; our own touch through it. We were educated in that aspect, knowing that mythological side through it really helped me as well. I understand what we're talking about. It really comes to me with that aspect. It was also interesting because you gotta give it its own movement and character.

Every actor does their special work. We are blessed we have a disciplined cast, because we do. And they all love their work. They really get into their job and really dedicate their soul and heart to do the best version of what they have.

When MStars News last spoke with Holtz, he mentioned, "I think my favorite episodes from season two are episodes four and five, and on throughout the rest of the season."

MStars News: For me, the major difference between the first and second season is that Richie and Seth aren't together in the same scene for awhile. What was that change like for you?

Zane Holtz: You know, there was that true...what the characters are experiencing is that need. You're missing your brother, even though you're pissed at him. You hate him or whatever. The same thing was there for me and D.J. as performers.

MS: So that absence was felt between you and D.J. Cotrona (Seth Gecko)?

ZH: We basically spent 5 episodes of this season not working together. We didn't see each other. I mean we saw each other off-set and on the weekends. But, we weren't working.

MS: And then in episode 5, I felt the chemistry kicked up a notch when Richie and Seth were finally reunited.

ZH: So when we got to work, on the set again, have some dialogue together, it was like a cool reunion for both the characters and for us as actors. So that was where it really played out and I was feeling it, even though we were at odds.

MS: In the scene, Seth comes in blazing to save Richie, who's in deep trouble. Tell me about that moment.

ZH: He kinda comes in...that was one of my favorite shots from the second season by the way. When he shows up, shoots the guy. He ducks around the corner and I eat everybody! We head out and we're doing the walk-and-talk! And we get into an argument. That was awesome!

MS: Tell me about working with Jeff Fahey, who plays Uncle Eddie.

ZH: With Jeff, it was so cool because I got to have a couple of scenes with him separately. D.J. got to have a couple of scenes with him separately. It was kind of like every scene even though D.J. is not in the scene, he's usually there because we're talking about him. Or vice versa, they're talking about, "Where's Richie? Where's your brother Seth?"

MS: In episode 7, there is a huge argument between Uncle Eddie, Seth, and Richie, right before The Regulator (Danny Trejo) shows up.

ZH: It was vey cool! We only had one or two scenes with the three of us together. You know, before he....his character died. But it was very cool man! I think that was one of my favorite scenes. I have yet to see episode 7. I haven't gotten a chance to catch up on the last one. But I heard his death scene is pretty good. So I'm looking forward to seeing it!

In our previous MStars News interview, Jeff Fahey described his chemistry between Richie and Seth, "What's wonderful is each one of those, Seth and Richie, and Eddie for that matter, they all dance to the beat of their own drummer, but within that world, they are all thieves, and so when you mix those three elements together, you're going to come up with a bit of rock and roll."

Season Two of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series continues for two more Tuesdays at 9pm on El Rey Network.
