In this week's Season 9 episode, "The Perspiration Implementation" of The Big Bang Theory, Leonard and the gang took up a new hobby after Penny challenged Leonard's athletic ability. In a hilarious venture, Leonard, Sheldon, Howard and Raj looked into extracurricular activities while Stuart spent time with the girls to understand why he is unable to attract female comic book readers to his store. After reading a few reviews, Penny discovered that Stuart gives off a creepy vibe, which calls for the girls to give him a few tips on how to not scare away women.

After going through a list of activities at the university, Leonard and his cohorts decide to take a fencing class. They insisted on classes that didn't involve too much athleticism or shorts that could potentially be pulled down.

Barry Kripke teaches them the fencing basics and warns them that childhood games like movie reenactments should be left outside of his classroom. In the midst of their training, Sheldon admits that he's looking forward to learning how to slap an opponent with a glove when challenged to defend a lover. Leonard quickly reminds him that it's completely unnecessary, but is proud of his friend for finally moving on from his ex-girlfriend Amy. Kripke's eyes light up at the news of Amy being single; a reality that Sheldon does not entertain and ends up giving Kripke a glove slap at the thought of the two being together.

Meanwhile, Stuart was trying to pinpoint the reasons that his comic book store is not attracting any woman and uses Penny and the girls as his focus group. When they find out that customer reviews have described him as creepy, the girls try to help him curb his ick factor. He works on improving his behavior and admits that he clings to women because he's lonely. Amy understandably relates to him and the two have a moment, which Stuart misunderstands as a romantic one.

Following their venture into fencing, the guys ended up at a bar to celebrate their valiant efforts. After a few sips of beer, Sheldon claims that he's ready to start dating again and starts hitting on patrons at the bar, which include one woman and her grandmother.

After a memorable night at the bar, Sheldon and Leonard started to head back home and randomly spotted Amy. In a drunken slur, Sheldon gave Amy a heads up about Kripke's inevitable advances after learning she was newly single. Already ahead of the game, Kripke reached out to her earlier, but Amy turned him down. Still buzzed, Sheldon admitted that he too was turned down earlier in the night which made Amy immediately upset. The thought of Sheldon moving on almost brought her to tears, hinting that she may still love him afterall.

The Big Bang Theory airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
