'Waiting to Exhale' Author Terry McMillan Tells Halle Berry to "Give up on Marriage"

It appears that some people are sick of hearing about Halle Berry's failed marriages. After the actress revealed that she was divorcing her husband of two years, Olivier Martinez, earlier this week, social media had a field day talking about "Ms. Berry." One person to give their input on Berry's love life was well-known author and Waiting to Exhale film genius, Terry McMillan. She threw major shade at the actress and tweeted, "Halle should give up on marriage."

MStars News wants to know if you agree with McMillan? After all, Halle's previous marriages also crumbled. The actress' first marriage was to MLB star David Justice, her second marriage was to singer Eric Benet. There were rumors that Benet cheated multiple times on Berry, and was allegedly a sex addict.  Then again, why should McMillan get to pass judgement?

Earlier this week the couple released a statement that said, "It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce," the joint statement continued, "We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son. We wish each other nothing but happiness in life and we hope that you respect our and, most importantly, our children's privacy as we go through this difficult period."

After announcing their split, the two revealed that they were going to work things out peacefully over the custody of their 2-year-old son, Maceo, a source claims.

"[Berry] only wants this to be easy and amicable for both of them," the source explained. They also claimed that the parents didn't want any kind of ugly custody dispute.

"She always puts her kids first and she and Olivier are still friends. This is hard for everyone, but it's important to Halle that this not affect their son," the source continued, "She does not want any kind of custody battle."

On Monday while issuing a separation, both stars filed for joint custody of their son. Another insider claimed that Martinez is upset about the entire breakup.

"Olivier is very upset about the divorce and this is not what he wanted. He and Halle just couldn't get along," the insider added, "They are working out a visitation schedule for Maceo. Olivier wants to see his son as much as he possibly can."

Berry also has one other child, a daughter named Nahla Ariela with her ex-boyfriend, model Gabriel Aubry.
