On Tuesday night's episode of The Daily Show, host Trevor Noah explained that the program was banned from attending a campaign event for the Iowa GOP's Growth and Opportunity Party. The event is meant to symbolize that the Iowa caucus vote is just three months away. And while ten of the Republican candidates were in attendance, The Daily Show was banned from gaining access.

"Seeing as this was the last chance for Iowans to see GOP candidates in one place before Election Day," Noah said, "The Daily Show wanted to be there..."

But of course, they weren't.

"Oh yeah, that's right." Noah continued, showing a graphic of the state of Iowa with some crickets behind it. "Nobody filed sh*t, because for real, the Iowa state Republican party specifically denied The Daily Show access to their event last week."

Why? It's simple. As Iowa's GOP chairman Jeff Kaufmann stated to The Des Moines Register, "The reason is, we were afraid they were going to make fun of Iowa. I bet we've got 10 or 15 Democrat-oriented blogs, liberal blogs. But anybody I think is going to make fun of Iowa—they're unwelcome."

Perhaps Mr. Kaufmann forgot that The Daily Show is a televised program that some people watch?

Naturally, despite them not being in attendance, they were still able to make fun of Iowa. Sorry, Kaufmann.

Following the report, The Daily Show created an event via their Facebook page, something everyone can "attend" – as long as they are NOT Jeff Kaufmann.

So, anyone attending?
