AMC presented the first live-action trailer of writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon's cult comic book, Preacher. Adapted by collaborators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, this is the perfect opportunity to check up on Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer in the world premiere debut.

As we previously mentioned here, Preacher follows Jesse Custer, a man of the cloth, who loses his faith after being possessed by a supernatural creature named Genesis. A hybrid of angel and demon, Genesis takes control of Preacher, causing him to unwillingly kill his entire congregation and flatten his church. With newfound powers, Custer journeys across the U.S., with his ex-lover Tulip O'Hare (Ruth Negga) and the hard-drinking Irish vampire Cassidy (Joe Gilgun), to find God.

Check out our 5 thoughts on the trailer debut of Preacher here:

5) He Is The Preacher!

The Agent Carter actor has the gritty look of his comic book alter ego down pat. Sticking close to the source material. the wardrobe is just as stylish and the hairstyle is just as wild. Did you hear Cooper actually speak in the trailer? For the Greenwich, London native, he sure hits the tone of the American accent right on the spot.

4) The Vampire Cassidy

We also mentioned, viewers should be very excited about the actor playing Cassidy. Joe Gilgun broke out on his own in the Shane Meadows film and TV drama, This Is England. Gilgun also worked with co-star Ruth Negga, who has been cast as Tulip, on Misfits.

3) Where's Tulip By The Way?

I'm sure if you pause the trailer, you might spot Negga in the footage. But I would have preferred seeing a scene between Tulip, Cassidy, and Jesse. This is a group dynamic and you need all three to make the chemistry work. The clincher for me would be to actually watch a scene with Cooper, Negga, and Gilgun together.

2) The Dark Side of DC Comics

Preacher actually comes from DC Comics, Vertigo imprint. You may remember Vertigo from its other popular series, known as Hellblazer. Like Jesse Custer, John Constantine (played by Matt Ryan in the NBC drama) fits in this dark and mature world, where the good guys don't always win. The comic book series consists of 75 issues,w which means the show has a beginning, middle, and end. This makes sense because you don't want to overstay your welcome in the television landscape.

1) This Is the End

Seth Rogen and Even Goldberg wrote and directed the the horror comedy, This is the End. These two collaborators know how to deliver the scares and laughs in the special-effects driven flick. If we're lucky, the two will just copy and paste what Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon came up with.

No premiere date has been set for Preacher on AMC.

Readers, do you think Preacher will have the same success as The Walking Dead on AMC?
