Lionsgate Home Entertainment has put together the complete series of the popular AMC drama on DVD and Blu-Ray. In Mad Men: The Complete Collection, watch as creator Matthew Weiner discusses the success of actor Jon Hamm portraying his alter-ego Don Draper across seven seasons.

In our finale recap, in the closing minutes, Don found himself at a retreat after Stephanie (Caity Lotz) abandoned him. Breaking down, Don wanted to come back for his dying ex-wife and and children, but he didn't want to return home empty-handed. In a state of medication, Don found himself inspired, coming up with the renowned Coca-Cola commercial that will make a mark in advertising history.

As we mentioned before, Hamm was nominated and won for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series at the recent Emmy Awards. With a standing ovation, which started from Emmy winer Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Hamm received the recognition of seven years of powerful performances. It is only fitting now that we should watch the entire series straight from the beginning.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, creator/showrunner Matthew Weiner discusses how he envisioned the ending straight from the beginning, "The idea that he would end up at an ashram, or something like that, was with me from when I pitched AMC the first season. It was a two-step process. They liked the pilot, but they wanted to know what the rest of the show was."

Weiner adds, "This was back before everybody was demanded to write their entire show before they sold it. They didn't want a bible, but they wanted to know what it would be about every week. I gave them an endgame if we got to do the whole decade. That was the image. I always imagined it would be him on a bluff somewhere, sitting in the lotus position with a smile on his face."

The Complete Collection features a behind-the-scenes featurette of Weiner discussing his directing style on the AMC drama and how he found success working alongside the cast.

We have 5 reasons why we're still missing Mad Men after the series finale.
