The Gangnam District in Seoul, Korea, became a household name after Psy's phenomenal song, "Gangnam Style." Now, the District is going to get some additional feature by having Psy's very own statue.

According to Kpopstarz.com, this October, the Gangham Dsitrict Municipal Office posted a public notice for bids to build a statue in the Seoul district. Now, according to recent updates, a bronze Gangham Style statue is going to be built in a budget of $350,000 USD.

After the release of Psy's party song, "Gangham Style," the wealthy district in Seoul became very popular but in recent years, tourists are not coming that often to visit the place which is described in the song. According to K-pop Herald, one local government official said, "The absence of any significant tourist attraction related to 'Gangnam Style' in Korea is considered a serious problem. The statue will be a great landmark reflecting the popularity of the once worldwide hit, Psy's 'Gangnam Style.'"

With honouring their celebrity star, Seoul is preparing to make a statue in his honour. Meanwhile, the singer, whose song is the most-watched video in the history of YouTube with nearly 2.5 billion views is all set for another studio album. Pay is represented by YG Entertainment, shared a teaser poster of Psy's return to the agency.

In July 2012, Psy released his sixth album Psy 6, and the song "Gangnam Style" appeared on broadcasting networks and and web portals outside Asia. According to All Kpop, in August 2012 Psy's "Gangnam Style" ranked first on YouTube with most viewed videos monthly chart and in the very same month, it was #1 on iTunes Music Video Charts.

With Psy's upcoming seveth album, fans are expecting to see whether the new songs will be able to compete against Psy's own "Gangnam Style."
