As any WWE fan knows by now, Seth Rollins has injured his knee and has vacated the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. In a new interview with WWE.com, he addressed the future of that title and offered his thoughts on the next champion.

Rollins explained how the injury occurred during a match in Dublin during the first night of WWE's European tour. It was a move he had done hundreds of times: flip over opponent standing on second rope, land underneath him, pick him up, deliver turnbuckle powerbomb. But this time, he landed on the inside of his right foot rather than flat, and he felt his knee gave. He was able to tough it out and finish the match, but the damage was done.

After WWE confirmed the injury, the company announced it would hold a tournament at Survivor Series to determine the next champion. So when Rollins sat down for an interview with WWE.com, the site asked him for his thoughts on who would be the next champion. Rollins, wrestler that he is, responded in a kayfabe manner.

"What do you see as the future of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? Is there any Superstar you would like to see win it?

No. You know, for me, over the last seven months I really put my stamp on that title as mine. I’ve defended it against literally everyone that has come at me and done it successfully, so for me to have to vacate the title like that, I’m not afraid of whatever happens at Survivor Series. Whoever happens to come out with the championship, as far as I’m concerned, they’re an interim champion and kind of just holding on to my title until I get back. They can look at it however they want, but for me, I’m the best and I’ve never lost my title. So, when I get back, I plan on picking up where I left off."

Fans are expecting Rollins to get a major babyface reaction when he returns in six to nine months, so perhaps his heel gloating in this article is all for naught.
