Every time LeBron James steps foot onto a basketball court it seems as though he makes history in some way, shape, or form. Tuesday was no different. The Cleveland Cavaliers all star forward passed Jerry West for number 19 on the NBA all time scoring list, with 25,193 career points.

The record making shot came from a spot up 3-pointer in the corner, with 2:55 remaining in the first quarter of Cleveland's game against the Detroit Pistons--a game they would eventually lose.

Watch the record breaking shot:

"Obviously, every single day, that's what we all represent," James said, via ESPN. "We all represent The Logo. You know, everyone-media, myself, my teammates, organization, fans-we all represent The Logo.

James is referring to the iconic image that is the NBA logo--which is a silhouette of West.

Here's Jerry--now an executive member of the Golden State Warriors--sitting courtside before a Warrior game. The NBA logo on the chairs to either side of him are... well, images of him. See the resemblance?

"To be able to pass a legend like himself, it's an honor, an honor for sure." James said, via ESPN. "I know how much he did for the game, what he meant to the game. You know, I had an opportunity to read his book. I had an opportunity to actually talk to him a few times. ... It's pretty cool."

Next on the all time list is Indiana Pacers legend, Reggie Miller, with 25,279 points. After James' 30 point outing against Detroit--he only needed 10 to move past West--he finds himself just 66 points shy of number 18 on the all time list. James is averaging 27 points this season, so if he stays true to form he should reach Miller's mark within the next three games, but quite possibly sooner than that.
