Could a big booty battle be brewing? On Sunday night's American Music Awards, first time host Jennifer Lopez performed an opening number which included a reference to Nicki Minaj's famed "Anaconda" video. Now, although the crowd went wild, when the camera cut to Minaj in the audience, she looked less then flattered by the "Booty" singer's interpretation.

For the record, Lopez also paid tribute to Justin Bieber's "Where Are U Now," Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" and Drake's "Hotline Bling," apparently receiving no evil stare downs from any of them.

However, Minaj is clearly no stranger to showing anger toward fellow artists, including ones that double as hosts, as was the case when she lashed out at Miley Cyrus during the recent 2015 Video Music Awards. "Now back to the b*tch who had a lot to say about me earlier in the week. Miley Cyrus, what's good?" said Minaj to the "Wrecking Ball" singer during the VMAs.

Of course, unlike Cyrus, Lopez made no previous comments to the press toward Minaj but some believe this was payback from J-Lo's supposed diss of Minaj's "Anaconda" performance at last year's Fashion Rocks – as it was choreographed by Jenny From the Block's ex, Casper Smart. However, given Minaj's history most agree it's just a case of competitive cabooses.

Despite the accusations, Minaj did respond to the accusations via Twitter:

In the end, The Pinkprint rapper's if looks could kill gaze didn't evolve into any on camera outbursts despite having ample opportunity when she took the stage to collect awards for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album and Artist, where she thanked both Drake and Meek Mill in her acceptance speech.

However, even the admiration of her fans, which resulted in Minaj bringing home the AMA hardware, failed to warm her up as she was seen rolling her eyes while walking off stage.

Does Minaj truly hate awards and award shows or is she just a master of publicity in the way she manages to always draw attention to herself no matter what the circumstances?
