The death of Hugo Chavez has induced sorrow, confusion and even conspiracy as Vice President Nicolas Maduro claims that two United States diplomats gave Chavez cancer. He also announced that the accused would be expelled from the country, which has been confirmed by the United States government.

"There's no doubt that Commandante Chavez's health came under attack by the enemy," Vice President Madura said. "The old enemies of our fatherland looked for a way to harm his health.'' He also compared the death of Chavez to the illness and ultimate death of Yasser Arafat in 2004, which some blamed on Israel.  Madura also announced a special investigation into the death of the late president, saying: "We're after other forces that are also conspiring in this poisonous effort. They're trying to create disruption. They have taken all possible measures to hurt our economy. "

State Department spokesman Patrick Ventrell responded to these allegations saying:

"We completely reject the Venezuelan government's claim that the United States is involved in any type of conspiracy to destabilize the Venezuelan government. We reject the specific allegations against members of our Embassy. An assertion that the United States was somehow involved in causing President Chávez's illness is absurd, and we definitively reject it."

Mstarz recently reported on the announcement of Hugo Chavez's death, stating:

President Hugo Chavez Has Died Tuesday. Vice President Nicolas Maduro asked the Venezulaeans to remain respectful during their time of mourning the late President, "We must unite now more than ever."

The South American country and supporters have poured into a Caracas square after Chavez's death was confirmed. Maduro said that plans for the President's massive funeral will be announce in days to come and did not confirm about any special elections that will be held to replace Chavez, "Our people can count on having a government of men and women committed to protecting them," Maduro said.

In support of the Venezuelan constitution, the military is in a "process of deploying ... to ensure the safety of all Venezuelans" during the transition process after the president's death, said Adm. Diego Molero, Venezuela's defense minister. According to the constitution, Venezuela will call for new elections within 30 day. However, politicians are struggling to determine who will resume control until a new president is found.
