Lil Boosie has revealed he has kidney cancer, taking to Instagram to post the news. The rapper, who also goes by the name Boosie Badazz, shared the cancer diagnosis on Wednesday morning. The hip-hop star posted a photo of himself sitting at a table and requesting prayers from fans.

Boosie, who has struggled with diabetes for years, shared the news of his latest issues.

Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, posted the photo with the caption, "I need all my fans to pray for me Doctor just told me I have cancer on my kidneys prayer is power that's why I'm letting the world know prayfaboosie (sic)".

The rapper removed the caption from the photo just half an hour later, but fans had already spotted the message and sent their well-wishes.

TMZ claims that the caption revealing the cancer news was removed because Boosie’s camp were not thrilled he revealed the diagnosis to everyone.

XXL Mag states that Atlantic Records has confirmed that Boosie does indeed have cancer, but an official statement has yet to be released.

Boosie is married to Walnita Decuir-Hatch and they have seven children together.

The rapper served time in prison at Louisiana State Penitentiary from 2009 to 2014, after being sentenced to eight years after pleading guilty to drug charges. Boosie was released early on March 5, 2014.

The rapper discussed his time in prison, revealing he had changed his ways since being released.

In October 2014, Boosie announced he had changed his stage name to Boosie Badazz.

He explained in an interview to Noisey, "I got tired of just people, grown men, like, 'What up Lil Boosie?' No, I'm grown. It should be Mr.! You know, I'm Boosie Badazz. I'm a dad, man. Just take the s*it off! That's how I was feeling ... Boosie Badazz is just like—more people say Badazz when they see me than Boosie, so I just stuck with the Boosie Badazz."
