'Grease Live' Trailer Shows Julianne Hough, Carly Rae Jepsen and More Hand Jive [WATCH]

Grease is definitely the word in 2016. Break out your leather jackets and those poodle skirts because we are headed back to Rydell High for an all-new live musical event this winter as some of today's biggest names take on the roles of some truly iconic musical characters. Fox is bring the iconic stage musical to life with an brand-new production called Grease Live, that is set to star Julianne Hough, Vanessa Hudgens, KeKe Palmer and Carly Rae Jepsen to name a few, and we have your first look into the stage production turned TV event as the cast hand jives.

While the show is a live music event in the same vein as NBC's Sound of Music and Peter Pan, this is Fox's most recent foray into the world of live musical theater, and from the trailer we are sure that we are going to get some chills that will be defintely be multiplying when the gang hits the stage this January.

From the trailer, we can see the whole gang in their 50s gear, with Hough giving us her best Sandy Olsen, and Aaron Tveit showing off his greaser Danny Zuko side.

In addition to that some of the other cast members, Hudgens, Jepsen and Palmer will all be playing Pink Ladies. The "Call Me Maybe" singer will take on the role of beauty school dropout Frenchy, while Hudgens channels her misunderstood rebel into the role of Rizzo, and Palmer is set to play Marty.

As for how Hough feels about talking on one of the biggest roles of the play, she told People that she is excited for the many different facets of playing Sandy.

"I'm excited about both looks," the DWTS judge explains to the news site. "I can't wait to go from young girl kind of figuring out who she is to owning this newfound sex appeal."

According to Us Weekly, Hough explained that this is her dream role as she stated, "Grease is one of the movies that made me want to be an entertainer. I have literally been waiting my whole life to play Sandy. This is my dream role, and performing it live on television will be one of the most thrilling opportunities I've had in my career so far."
