French alternative rock band Phoenix has just released the music video for their first single and, "Entertainment," off of their upcoming album Bankrupt! This album, due out in April 23, is the follow up to their 2009 hit record Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. The band co-produced Bankrupt! with Philippe Zdar and reportedly purchased and used the recording console used on Michael Jackson's Thriller. The original working title of this upcoming album was actually Alternative Thriller.
Here is the music video directed by Patrick Daughters. It depends a tragic story set to the catchy Phoenix tune. Enjoy!
When talking about purchasing this piece of musical history, singer Thomas Mars said:
"The most mysterious part to me was that no one else-- no nerd or music engineer or memorabilia freak-- seemed to want it. There was something a little spooky about him [console owner Clayton Rose]. He was very pushy. It seemed like a scam."
The asking price was $32,000 but Mars got it knocked down to $17,000.
