Josh Donaldson had a good year. The third baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays lead his team to the cusp of the World Series, and took home the AL MVP to boot. But that's all white noise compared to his latest endeavor: a haircut fit for a Viking.

Something like this isn't just decided on a whim. The move was pre-ordained. Back in November, Donaldson spoke to Kenny Ducey of Sports Illustrated in a Q&A. He talked about the new-do, as well as other things--like baseball and stuff.

"I'm trying to grow my hair out right now like the guy on Vikings [Ragnar Lothbrok], where it's really long and it's kind of got three big braids going down the middle of it," said Donaldson. "That's what I'm trying to get it to right now. My hair can be fully braided as of right now, but I'm trying to get the braids thicker. So I've got to try to find a way to do that."

After looking at the pictures, it's safe to say he found a way. Donaldson isn't just a one trick pony, either. Aside from his tremendous hair, Donaldson is also quite the spokesman. He had this to say when asked about his partnership with Philips Norelco.

"I think what sets them apart is they're going for the clean-shaven look. I've had a beard, I've gone clean-shaven, and my beard can kind of get a little long at times," Donaldson told Ducey. "I think what's great about this shaver is that it has 72 rotating blades, and it's going to be able to give you a 30% cleaner shave. It's pretty neat. I've had a chance to experience it personally, and it really gets you a closer shave, especially in those harder-to-reach places underneath your jaw line. And the irritation is very minimal, to say the least."

72 blades? 30% cleaner shave? Was that a trial run at a 30-second slot for a Super Bowl commercial--probably sandwiched between a Dorito commercial with a cute dog, and something Ford? Hopefully.

Any who, we now know three things: Donaldson has a nice new hair cut, he had a an MVP year on the diamond, and he's incredibly well versed on a Philips Norelco razor. For the AL MVP third baseman, it appears 2015's going to be a hard year to top.
