Looks like Orange Is The New Black star, Dascha Polanco could really be wearing a jail jumpsuit after facing charges for assaulting a 17-year-old girl named Michelle Cardona. But if you think she was worried about her day in court, she didn't let it show as she celebrated her 33rd birthday Thursday night.

In the snapshot below, it appears Polanco went out and had a good time at TAO Downtown, celebrating her born day, just hours after appearing in court on Thursday, December 3. The actress revealed that she was given a surprise party for her special day, and said she was determined that the truth would come out in her case.

"I'm a warrior! The truth is set to come.... Good always prevails. Thank you @taodowntown and @hennessyus @eugenedavid for my surprise party," she captioned the photo below.

According to US Magazine, Polanco found herself in Manhattan Criminal Court in New York on Thursday, Dec. 3, for allegedly punching the teen. The 33-year-old was arrested over the summer after she allegedly attacked Cardona court documents stated:

"Ms. Cardona observed the defendant strike Ms. Cardona about the face and head with a closed fist at least three times, pull Ms. Cardona's hair, and strike Ms. Cardona's arms with the defendant's hands and nails," the document read.

Polanco plays Dayanara Diaz on the hit Netflix series. She is an inmate at Litchfield Penitentiary who is having an hot affair with a guard. Polanco's character is serving prison time for drugs.

Little details were given explaining why Polanco punched the teen inside of her residence on W. 190th St. Before the assault, Polanco had invited Cardona to her apartment. She suffered "bruising and redness to her face, scratches to her arms, and substantial pain." The police added that Cardona went to the hospital to get treatment for her injuries.

She refused to make any comments after her court appearance. "It's a setup to try to get money and it was tape-recorded," her lawyer, Gerald Lefcourt explained. "This young woman was trying to extort her to drop the case. We're confident the charges will be dismissed."

Polanco "faces assault, attempted assault and harassment raps." The Brooklyn native will have to report back to court in January.
