Most people have seen or at least heard of the "Harlem Shake" YouTube video craze. Everyone is creating their own version of the viral YouTube video. However, the popular song for which the video came from, is causing some tension in the music world. Music producer Baauer's "Harlem Shake" song has been a top of the music charts for three weeks now and some other artists want to be compensated for there work on the album.

The New York Times is reporting that Baauer's popular track could contain some unlicensed samples and the artists who are on the track want to get paid. Hector "Del Father" Delgado and Jayson Musson are both apparently featured on the track and want to be compensated by Baauer and label Mad Decent.

Delgado is a reggaetón artist whose voice can supposedly be heard at the beginning of the song, while Musson is a Philadelphia rapper who is claiming to say "Do the Harlem Shake" on the track. According to Delgado's manager, Javier Gomez, the vocal in the song is Delgado's "trademark."

Gomez told the New York Times that, "It's almost like they came on my land and built a house." The manager seems none to pleased about hearing his client's vocals on the hit track. Gomez went on to say, "We can turn around and stop that song. That's a clear breaking of intellectual property rights."

As for Musson, his vocals on the "Harlem Shake" song are from his time with the Philadelphia group Plastic Little and their 2001 song "Miller Time." According to the Times article, neither artist gave Baauer (Harry Bauer Rodrigues) permission to use their vocals on the track.

The song, which has been a top the Billboard 100 pop chart for three weeks now and has sold over 800,000 digital downloads has been a point of contention for a number of artists who all want to take credit for the song. Musson did tell the Times that, "Mad Decent have been more than cooperative during this." By all accounts, it seems like Musson's interaction with Mad Decent has been friendly.

Do you believe Delgado and Musson's that their vocals were used on the track, and if so, do you think they should get paid for Baauer reportedly using them without permission?
