'The Flash' S02E09 'Running To Stand Still' Grant Gustin, Danielle Panabaker Finale Recap!

The CW network continues Season 2 of The Flash. In Episode 8, in the winter finale, will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), the scarlet speedster, and Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) discover if they are Running to Stand Still?

Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is running around and being chased by Zoom. After shooting blindly, as Zoom lifts him, Harrison pleads for his daughter. Zoom looks at him and says, "Merry Christmas!"

Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Iris (Candice Patton) are out shopping for Barry, who's making out with Patty (Shantel VanSanten). After interrupting their make-out session, Iris breaks out crying and reveals about her long-lost brother, Wally West. Holding onto the secret is too much for her, Iris really wants to tell her father.   

As it snows, Caitlin and Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) are making plans to block Zoom's portals. As Caitlin invites Jay over to a Christmas Eve party, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) is suspicious of Harrison. The Weather Wizard (Liam McIntyre) shows up and lets loose Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Trickster (Mark Hamill). 

Joe and Barry show up at the crime scene, realizing Patty is too close to the case. Patty is determined to get to Weather Wizard for her brother's death. At their hideout, the Weather Wizard wants the Flash dead; thinking three against one. 

Cisco thinks he can pinpoint The Weather Zaire's location, with the help of Jay. Elsewhere, Iris and Barry have something to tell Joe. Realizing his wife was pregnant, Joe breaks down crying and recognizes the name Wallace. While Joe needs to be alone, Barry gets a visit from Captain Cold. 

During the standoff, Captain Cold reveals he's not interested in revenge; there's no money in it. Barry asks Captain Cold for his help but he rejects. Barry then meets with Joe, who feels horrible that Wally didn't grow up without a father. 

The Trickster leaves a message for the scarlet speedster on every television screen. As Harrison spots a clue, Patty and The Flash arrive at the hideout, stepping into a trap. The Flash escapes with Patty before the building explode. Patty reveals she was supposed to die, not her father. 

While the wand is ready, The Trickster is dressed as Santa Claus. Zoom shows up and asks if Harrison has decided. At the tree lighting ceremony,  the Flash discovers the Weather Wizard can fly.  After the two race in the air, Trickster reveals he has planted a bomb in every Christmas gift. 

While the Flash takes a beating, Harrison thinks he has a plan to find the bombs. Using magnets, the bombs are sent through the portal. After the scarlet speedster takes down his enemies, Patty wounds the Flash's leg. The Flash pleads with Patty not to kill her father's murderer.

With a gun pointed at the Weather Wizard, Patty decides to arrest him in the end. Joe hands Barry his watch and considers him his son. After Barry forgives Harrison, he heads on over to the party.

As Caitlin and Jay kiss, Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) arrives at the front door. Getting a visit from his daughter, Harrison realizes Zoom wants Barry to run faster and finally accepts to help him.
