Bates Motel Season 4 Spoilers: Will Freddie Highmore/Vera Farmiga Meet Damon Gupton's Shrink?

Based on the Alfred Hitchcock suspense thriller, Psycho, the Season 3 finale of Bates Motel aired on A&E. In the upcoming Season 4 ,will Norma Bates (Vera Farminga) and Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) meet the "new shrink in town" (played by Damon Gupton)?

As we previously mentioned, during the season finale, Norman was just about to leave town with Bradley (Nicola Peltz), until "Mother" wanted to speak with her. "Norma" came out, chased after Bradley, and bashed her head against he rocks. Norman snaps out of it, thinking it was his mother who killed Bradley. Meanwhile, Dylan (Max Thieriot) illegally earned the money for Emma (Olivia Cooke)'s much-needed lung transplant. They shared a kiss before Emma headed off to her surgery.

We also mentioned, Bates Motel will be coming back with Season 4 and Season 5. Both 10-episode seasons, 20 in total, will air in 2016. Co-creator Kerry Ehrin teases this might be the series end, "From the end of the first season, Carlton and I both had the exact same instinct of five seasons. Emotionally, yes, a very specific one. I will say it's beautiful."

According to Deadline, The Player actor has landed a recurring role in the upcoming fourth season. In the A&E drama, Gupton will play Dr. Gregg Edwards, described as Resident Doctor at Pineview Mental Institution. In his character description, Edwards is described, "He walks a fine line between professional curiosity and personal investment in his patients' lives."
We mentioned before, the Lost actor, Nestor Carbonell, will be sitting behind the camera once again. The Tick actor had directed an episode before in season three, which earned favorable praise from critics. Carbonell is already prepping for the eighth episode of the fourth season. Supposedly there will be "a lot of payoff" between Sheriff Romero and Norma.

Season 4 of Bates Motel will begin production later this year.
