'The Flash' Season 2 Spoilers: Will Grant Gustin's Barry Allen Meet Iris West's "New Love?"

The CW network continues with Season 2 of The Flash. After his previous confrontation with Zoom (voiced by Tony Todd), will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) be able to handle himself as he meets Iris West (Candice Patton)'s new love, Scott Evans (Tone Bell)?

In our previous recap, Barry quickly realized he was no match to fight the immortal Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) alone. Needing the help of the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), the scarlet speedster raced against the clock to protect Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee). Realizing her true destiny, Hawkgirl teamed up with Hawkman and the scarlet speedster to take down their unstoppable enemy.

In our recent recap, the Weather Wizard (Liam McIntyre) broke both Trickster (Mark Hamill) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) from prison. While Iris was telling her father Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) about his long-lost son, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) shared a kiss with Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears). With Captain Cold out of the picture, the Flash raced into the air fighting the Weather Wizard and stopped the Trickster's detonation. As Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) betrayed the others, Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) shocked everyone when he arrived at their doorstep.

According to Variety, The Truth Be Told actor has been cast as Scott Evans. In a multi-episode arc during the sophomore season, Scott will show up as Iris West as new boss at Central City Picture News. Evens' predecessor at the paper, Eric Larkin (Tom Butler) was murdered by Earth-2 villain Dr. Light (Malese Jow).

TV Line teased Scott's character description as, "Their professional relationship gets off to a rocky start - his first order of business is to kill her puff piece about recent attacks in Central City. Maybe that's his idea of foreplay?"

The Flash continues Season 2 on the CW Tuesdays at 8pm on January 19, 2016.
