The long-awaited seventh Star Wars film, directed by J.J. Abrams, premiered Dec. 14 in Hollywood amid wild excitement from fans and celebrities. The best part about the A-list sector of the Star Wars fandom is that they chose a very typical way to show their excitement The Force Awakens -- playing dress up!

Disney chose not to screen the film early for critics or other press, so only a select few had seen the film before its world premiere. Check out how three celebs geeked out on the red carpet.

Sofia Vergara

Channeling Princess Leia and her iconic buns, Vergara wore her hair in a twisted updo at the world premiere in Los Angeles.

Although she didn't wear a costume to match her hairstyle, but it was enough to turn some heads as she posed on the red carpet next to her new husband, Joe Manganiello.

Rainn Wilson

Wilson, best known for his role on "The Office," dressed as a Jedi for the event, while his son Walter wore a Boba Fett costume.

A number of celebrities joined a few lucky fans to catch the first public showing, and Wilson took to Twitter to express his pleasure.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Not even celebrities are immune to The Force. The 34-year-old actor painted his face and neck green and wore a beanie with pointed green ears to channel his best Yoda, the Jedi master impersonation.
