Stedman Bailey is working hard and hopes to return home from rehab for Christmas. He just might do it too, which would be nothing short of a miracle. Weeks ago, the St. Louis Rams wide receiver was shot in the head in a drive by shooting just outside his home in Miami Gardens, Florida. The driver of the vehicle, Antwan Reeves, was also shot. However, both Bailey and Reeves would survive the incident.

"Making great progress Twitter family," Bailey said on his Twitter account. "One day at a time... God is so good! I'll be back in no time."

Bailey has been transferred out of the ICU to a physical therapy facility, where he is now walking and talking. TMZ sports spoke to Bailey's agent, Tony Fleming, who had this to say about the young wide receiver: "He is getting his strength back and just taking it one day at a time. He is scheduled to be released out of the hospital on the 23rd... The Rams are great. They have been talking to the doctors like once every few days staying on top of it."

On December 4, Bailey took to Twitter to thank his fans, teammates, and peers alike for the continued prayers and support before vowing to retake the field one day. "To my entire Rams family, especially my teammates, fans & peers I thank you so much for your continued prayers & support. My recovery has been nothing short of a miracle (a work of GOD) and I can only give God the praise, glory and honor for which he is doing in my life at this time," Bailey wrote. "I will continue to get better day by day until I'm able to get back on the field and I ask for your continue prayers. Love Stedman Bailey."

Bailey's journey to get back on the field is undoubtedly a long and arduous task. However, with the strength and improvement he is showing, it looks to be a feasible one. Before Bailey was suspended earlier this year for violating the league's substance abuse policy, he had 12 catches and one touchdown.
