On Monday night, the St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders all filed for applications to relocate to Los Angeles. Read More »

St Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke has a plan to build a new NFL stadium in Los Angeles, which means he could be planning to move his franchise to 2nd biggest market in the country as early as 2016. Michael Sam said he comes from a family of homophobes and that his brothers called him a "faggot" after he came out as the first openly gay football player earlier this year, Sam told Oprah Winfrey, according to TMZ. Sam spoke with Oprah for a documentary that aired Saturday, Dec. 27, in which the former St. Louis Rams and Dallas Cowboys practice player detailed how difficult it was for him to be accepted even in his own home. "They called me a lot of things," Sam said, according to TMZ. "They called me a f-g. They called me 'gay.' They called me anything you could think of — just to hurt me." During the interview, Sam changed his stance on whether he thinks his sexuality cost him a spot in the NFL. Sam was released by the Rams and the Cowboys, never appearing in a game. He was drafted in the seventh round after winning the SEC Defensive Player of the Year Award at Missouri in 2013. Read More »
The NFL has been without a Los Angeles team since 1994, when the Raiders and Rams moved to Oakland and St. Louis. And it seems like rumors of a team returning to the City of Angels have existed ever since those squads left. For now, the city is still left waiting and wishing. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told "The New York Times" that a move to Los Angeles is still unlikely to happen all the way in the future of 2015. Meaning fans in SoCal will have to wait at least another year. "I'm not at the point where I would tell you that anything is imminent or that we have a solution identified at this point in time," Goodell told the Times. "There is progress, but we've all heard that before." The most likely teams to move to L.A. one day are the San Diego Chargers, Raiders or Rams, according to "Sports Illustrated." That's because all three can wiggle out of stadium leases next year, giving them flexibility to uproot. Real estate mogul Stan Kroenke, who owns the Rams, owns property in Los Angeles large enough for a stadium to be built. The Rams are also peeved about not being able to agree with their lender for plans to renovate the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, according to "Sports Illustrated." Read More »

"You gotta be able to work hurt," Hulk Hogan told TMZ. "You can't be taking a day off from wrestling because you twisted your pinkie if you're wrestling the main event at Madison Square Garden." Is that a dig at Michael Sam's sexuality, or the sometimes frail-sounding listings on NFL injury reports? Read More »
The St. Louis Rams have seen their fair share of controversy in the past week — with the events of Ferguson still close by, and their "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" statement before last week's Oakland Raiders game — but at least they've still got a healthy sense of humor. In a show of expert trolling against the Washington Redskins on Sunday, the team sent out the six rostered players that they received in the trade with Washington for their 2012 No. 2 pick — which Washington then used on Robert Griffin III — for the coin flip as honorary captains. With RG3 currently also in Washington coach Jay Gruden's doghouse, it was a salient, funny point showing up their opponent by displaying just how much they gave up for a now-backup quarterback. Chicago Bulls player Derrick Rose made a bold statement when he rocked an "I Can't Breathe" shirt during Saturday, Dec. 6's warm-up against the Golden State Warriors. According to "Sports Illustrated," the black shirt was in support of Eric Garner, the African-American man who died when placed in a chokehold by a white police officer in NYC over the summer. Protests have been happening across the country ever since another jury reached the decision not to indict NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo for causing Garner's death. Though many officers were involved in the struggle with Garner, Pantaleo was the officer who put a chokehold on Garner while trying to arrest him for selling untaxed cigarettes. "I can't breathe" were the words you could hear Garner clearly yelling during the time of his arrest. Garner's death was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner's office, sending out chaos from protesters after a jury saw different. Stedman Bailey, Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Chris Givens and Kenny Britt protested before a game with their "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" gesture that has been seen in Ferguson, Missouri, and across the nation for months now, and in recent weeks after a grand jury decided not to indict Officer Darren Wilson after he shot unarmed, 18-year-old Michael Brown in August. One celebrity who decided to show support of Eric Garner was Kylie Jenner. The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star was slammed by followers who felt that Jenner didn't really care about the situation at hand. When Jenner posted the photo statement below and captioned it, "RIP Eric Garner," she found herself in an Instagram fire as people criticized her over the post: Read More »
