Los Angeles is a hot bed for, well, anything and everything. Movies, music, dance, a plethora of food trucks, pretty people and sports, among other things. So it surprising to think that the city doesn't have an NFL team, considering football's popularity in the country. However, that may all soon change. On Monday night, the St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders all filed for applications to relocate to Los Angeles.

The Chargers made their intentions known first, even going so far to have owner Dean Spanos appear in a video on the team's website to explain the decision. "It was very difficult to come to this decision," Spanos said, as reported by ESPN. "It's been 14 years that we've been working very hard to try and get something done here. We've had nine different proposals that we've made, and all of them were basically rejected by the city.

"Over 25 percent of our business comes from Riverside Country, Orange County and the Los Angeles County area. Another team or teams going in there would have a huge impact on that. I think that is what really was the catalyst that got this whole thing going because when the Rams decided to make their move there, this was a move to protect our business more than anything, so we find ourselves where we do right now."

As for the Rams and the Raiders, it seems as though L.A. offered more glitz and glam than their current locations (bright lights and stuff).

The nation's second largest market has been without the NFL since 1994, when the Raiders moved back to Oakland and the Rams headed east to St. Louis. Prior to the Rams moving, they had been in the L.A. area since 1946.

As for what happens next, all NFL owners will meet in Houston next week, where they are expected to vote on whether or not any of the teams move. A team wanting to move needs at least 24 of the 32 votes, that according to Fox News. With three teams all vying for those votes, that meeting should be rather intense.
