Russell Westbrook, star player for the Oklahoma City Thunder, helped make one child's dream come true when he made a surprise visit to the Children's Center Rehabilitation Hospital in Bethany, Oklahoma, on Monday. The child was 13-year-old Janneh, a patient at the hospital for the last six months.

In June, Janneh was riding his bike when a bullet from a drive-by shooting hit him in the neck, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. Since then, he's gone through months of rehabilitation and surgeries. As the holidays approached, Janneh had wish on his Christmas list: to meet NBA star Westbrook.

That wish came true when Westbrook showed up virtually unannounced Monday. He didn't bring an entourage, there were no cameras, and nobody told him that's how his day was supposed to go. He did it because he simply wanted to -- a refreshing act of kindness.

"We literally just got a call that Russell Westbrook was in our lobby ready to see Janneh," said Melissa Richey, director of communications at the hospital, via ESPN. "That's something that, I think, made it even more special because you could tell it wasn't a publicity stunt. It was the kindness out of his own heart to take time out of his day, knowing he had another event that night, to take time to do that was really cool for us to see that."

The two talked for almost an hour, enjoying a bit of playful banter. You see, while Janneh is a massive fan of Westbrook, he is an admitted fan of LeBron James and cites the Cleveland Cavaliers as his favorite team. However, Westbrook had no qualms dishing out the smack talk back to Janneh. He probably bragged about this:

"It was really funny between the two of them," Richey said. "Russ was such a great sport and gave it to him back. He didn't hold back with him. It was really fun to watch the two of them together."
