As of late, Nicki Minaj has been able to keep her name in the headlines pretty regularly. Usually it is for a single she is dropping but recently it has been for winning awards, nominations, her boyfriend Meek Mill, and her new soon to be hit series on ABC Family, Nicki. ABC Family which is soon to be renamed Freeform, announced the full cast on Friday, Variety reported. Neal is known for her most recent role of playing Kevin Hart's daughter in the feature film, Get Hard. She has also starred in the heartbreaking story of Fruitvale Station with Michael B. Jordan and Repentance with Forest Whitaker. The young actress also has another movie coming out, Mother's Day, with the A-list cast of Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston.

Neal's resume is already better than most actresses that have five or more movies under their belt.

The emcee, elated with her cast choice, took to Instagram to voice her excitement, "I am honored and excited to announce that I've literally hand picks the main characters of my scripted series. I've been going to audition falling in love with some incredible people. Looking forward to unveiling this groundbreaking new show for you guys in 2016."

The Hollywood Reporter reports that other casts members will be: Selita Ebanks as young Nicki's mom, Grace; Wesley Jonathan as young Nicki's father, Vincent; and McCarrie McCausland as young Nicki's brother, Jaylen. The infamous Whoopi Goldberg will play a recurring guest role of Nicki's neighbor, Miss Martha.

"The single-camera comedy is inspired by the story of Minaj and her family's immigration from Trinidad in the early 1990s. The show will explore her life growing up in Queens, New York, and the personal and musical evolution that lead to her eventual superstardom," the publication reports.

If you're in Queens, New York this winter, there might be a chance to see the show in production mode.

Will you be tuning in next year for the comedy series, Nicki?
