5 Times James Corden Stunned One Direction in Carpool Karaoke

Just when everyone thought we’d seen the last of Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan before their 18-month hiatus, they’ve given Directioners one last Christmas present in the form of Carpool Karaoke with James Corden.

The hilarious sketch has proved to be a huge hit among music stars and during the popular and fun-filled segment on December 15, Corden proved to One Direction that he "can bring something to the band."

The English actor, writer, producer, comedian, and television host have interviewed the group before and they even played dodge-ball together, that's probably the reason why the boys are comfortable to let loose with Corden in their carpool ride.

Here's 5 times Corden stunned the popular British-Irish boy band.

1. Belting Out a High Note
The group immediately launched into their first hit “What Makes You Beautiful.” They also treated us to “Story Of My Life” followed by “Best Song Ever” where Corden shocked the band with his impressive high notes.

His Liam-y note left Horan's and Styles' jaws wide open.

2. Forcing Them to Wear Matching Outfits
During "No Control," Corden singled out how One Direction has never fallen in line with the past conception of boy bands who dance and wear matching clothes.

To amend that, Corden pulls out denim shirts for everyone in the car to wear and the band happily complied.

3. Choreographing Dance Moves
After tossing them their matching outfits, Corden choreographs the chorus to the song with a dance number that includes pointing to their groins in unison at the mention of “I’m a loaded gun.”

“Officially, we are giving the fans what they’ve always wanted,” Corden says. “which is a music video to ‘No Control’ in matching outfits.”

“I just feel like I’ve really — we’ve really — hit upon something unbelievable here,” Corden says as the set ends.

4. Asking Niall Horan to Play "Sleep With, Marry, Cruise"
The actor challenged Horan to a game of "sleep with, marry or cruise," offering him the options of Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Tina Fey.

Horan responded: "Sleep with Tina Fey, let's marry Gomez, and go on a cruise with Demi Lovato” before launching into “Perfect.”

5. Showing Them His Amazing Rap Skills
Corden remixed “Drag Me Down” with a rap verse interlude and impressed his guests. Horan can even be seen scratching his head in awe.

"That's what I'm saying. I can bring something to the band, guys!" Corden aggressively says to the group after a successful freestyle.

It’s such a treat to get one last dose of these four in action because fans are going to miss them so much during their break.

After five years of constant touring and recording, the guys definitely deserve some me time, but hopefully they’ll come back recharged, refreshed and even more incredible than they already are.
