It has been one shocking week for former President Jimmy Carter and the Carter family. After the nation learned that his grandson, Jeremy Carter died, it was later revealed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation that no autopsy would be scheduled on the 28-year-old who died on Sunday.

According to People, Carter's official cause of death was not released yet, but reports have revealed that he may have died from an apparent heart attack. After being found unresponsive, Carter was taken to a local hospital where he died near his home in Peachtree City, Georgia.

Before he died, Carter revealed to his family that he had not been feeling well. His brother wrote on his blog that the hospital tried CPR for 10 minutes while he was in ER. His brother, who is named Josh Carter, also revealed that his brother died in the early hours of Sunday around 2 a.m.

He was the son of Annette and Jeff Carter. When he was found unresponsive, his mother also tried to perform CPR on her son to save him before going to the hospital.

His sister-in-law, Sarah Carter, also reflected on times spent with her brother-in-law. "Jeremy loved being an uncle. He was so nervous the first time he held Charlie in the hospital but did a good job and was so sweet," the wife of Josh Carter said in another blog. "The smile never left his face that day."

She also claimed that Carter was a dare devil, and a thrill seeker, adding that he loved to live every minute of life. "He was braver than I will ever be. He loved roller coasters and any type of ride that spun, twisted, dropped, rocketed. He swam in the Georgia Aquarium with sharks. He even tried sky diving."

MStars News previously reported that the former President revealed his grandson had died during a Sunday school lesson over the weekend.

RIP. Our prayers and condolences are with the Carter family during their time of grief.
