Comic book heroes have already taken over your TV screens for the past few years, but it looks like there is no stopping more characters from Marvel, DC and the like from dominating prime time television! In addition to new shows featuring superheroes, beloved comic book characters will be making cameos in several established TV series.

Here are 6 of the most highly awaited TV appearances from awesome comic book characters.

Vixen, Arrow

After spending a lot of time being featured in the Justice League Unlimited animated series and starring in her own cartoon show, Vixen is finally getting the live-action treatment as she meets up with Oliver Queen in Arrow Season 4.

Why Are We Waiting For It?

The Green Lantern's shape-shifting ex will be played by the lovely Megalyn Echikunwoke, who also provided the voice for Vixen in her animated show. This means Megalyn will finally be fleshing out her character's person. Would she probably go after Oliver?

We already know that she works so well with Arrow and The Flash in her animated series so it would be interesting how their interactions will play out in live action. If that doesn't get you excited yet, listen to her sexy voice in the video below.

Elektra Natchios, Daredevil

Originally played by Jennifer Garner in the film and her standalone movie, Elektra will be making an appearance in the second season of Daredevil. The heroine has a long history where she started out as a love interest for Matt Murdock in law school and this time, she will be played by Elodie Yung, a relative newcomer compared to Ben Affleck's ex.

Why Are We Waiting For It?

The TV series has proven that Charlie Cox's version of Matt Murdock is a grittier, conflicted, MORE HUMAN incarnation of the blind superhero as well as doing justice to Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin by giving him a well-written backstory and making use of the brilliant Vincent D'Onofrio. If Netflix can do the same for Elektra (and we're pretty sure they will), the character could finally be redeemed after her disappointing big-screen solo effort.

The character also doesn't get along too well with Stick because he had refused to mentor her in the past, and if she will be a bounty hunter in the show, Matt should keep an eye (maybe an ear) out for his former Master.

Jessica Jones, Luke Cage

Mike Colter's powerful bartender was an important part of Jessica Jones, so it would make sense for Krysten Ritter to appear in Luke Cage, right? Although the cameo has not been confirmed, we're still hoping that the snarky private investigator will have no problem finding Luke.

Why Are We Waiting For It?

Jessica Jones was an amazing series and the first season was over too soon. Viewers were immediately hooked on the show and are undoubtedly craving for more Jessica, so it would be a great idea to bring her back in Luke Cage. After all, Jessica and Luke do end up together in the comic books and even have a child together. The show can't seriously consider breaking this hot couple apart!

Jesse Custer, Preacher

Dominic Cooper is already known for playing Iron Man's father Howard Stark in the retro comics TV show Agent Carter. However, the British actor is currently getting ready to star in his own series where he will play the mysterious Jesse Custer. If you've been living under a rock for the past three decades and have never heard of this guy, Jesse just happens to be possessed by an offspring of an angel and a demon, which makes him the most powerful being in the entire universe.

Why Are We Waiting For It?

The casting of Cooper as Jesse Custer has raised a lot of eyebrows, but the actor has the talent to pull it off. In addition to that, the AMC show is being executive produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and Preacher comic book series creator Garth Ennis has already spoken highly about what is being done for the character. If the trailer is any indication, Preacher will be violent, scary and funny in all the right places.

The Punisher, Daredevil

In addition to Elektra, Hell's Kitchen will be getting a third vigilante in the brutal Frank Castle, who could prove to be the most dangerous character in the bunch. And if that isn't reason enough to start watching Daredevil, The Punisher will be played by former The Walking Dead star Jon Bernthal.

Why Are We Waiting For It?

What, you needed another reason other than seeing Bernthal flesh out the resident hothead? The appearance of The Punisher in Hell's Kitchen could create another moral dilemma for Matt, who chooses not to kill. On the other hand, Frank is more of the "kill now, ask questions later" kind of guy. The dynamic between the two vigilantes could be dangerous and entertaining at the same time. Also, there should be a Daredevil vs. Punisher action sequence in the works!

Negan, The Walking Dead

In case you haven't heard, the most terrifying villain from the comic book series is finally coming to the AMC show. And in what could possibly be the best casting move in the history of television, Negan will be played by The Good Wife actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Why Are We Waiting For It?

Negan doesn't need an introduction at this point, because everyone immediately started looking him up as soon as Glenn crawled out from under the dumpster. The villain's arrival in the TV series could open up so many story arcs from the comic books. For starters, Glenn could finally be introduced to the barbwire-covered baseball bat named Lucille. However, there is always the possibility that the show will change Negan's victim to a different character, like Morgan or Maggie or even - gasp! - Daryl. With Negan around, the possibilities are as endless as the character's potty-mouthed one-liners.
