'The Flash' Season 2 Spoilers: Will Grant Gustin/Barry Allen Fght Matt Letscher/Eobard Thawne?

The CW network continues with Season 2 of The Flash. After his previous confrontation with Zoom (voiced by Tony Todd), will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) be able to handle himself as he battles Eobard Thawne aka The Reverse Flash (Matt Letscher)?

In our previous recap, Barry quickly realized he was no match to fight the immortal Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) alone. Needing the help of the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), the scarlet speedster raced against the clock to protect Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee). Realizing her true destiny, Hawkgirl teamed up with Hawkman and the scarlet speedster to take down their unstoppable enemy.

In our recent recap, the Weather Wizard (Liam McIntyre) broke both Trickster (Mark Hamill) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) from prison. While Iris was telling her father Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) about his long-lost son, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) shared a kiss with Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears). With Captain Cold out of the picture, the Flash raced into the air fighting the Weather Wizard and stopped the Trickster's detonation. As Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) betrayed the others, Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) shocked everyone when he arrived at their doorstep.

According to TV Line, not everyone in the comic books stays dead, well except for Spider-man's Uncle Ben. The Carrie Diaries actor will reprise his role as the first season's. The super-villain who murdered Barry's mother, Eobard Thawne (Letscher) in an upcoming installment. How is that possible since Eddie Thane (Rick Cosnett) sacrificed himself and erased the Reverse Flash from history?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Todd Helbing dishes on the "impossible return" of the scarlet speedster's arch-rival, Thawne will "puts a member of the S.T.A.R. Labs team in unexpected danger," which will force Barry "to make a life-changing decision."

The Flash continues Season 2 on the CW Tuesdays at 8pm on January 19, 2016.
