Fox has released an all-new promo to their upcoming supernatural series, Lucifer. Check out Forbidden Desires from the pilot starring Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar and Lauren German as Detective Chloe Dancer before its official premiere date.

As we previously mentioned, Fox has given a pilot commitment to Lucifer, from Californication creator and executive producer Tom Kapinos. Based on the comic book character created by Neil Gaiman, from The Sandman comic book series, the prince of darkness has earned his first big lead and the show will focus on his devilish lifestyle in Los Angeles. Lucifer resigns from the kingdom of Hell after becoming bored and unhappy.

The former owner of Hell gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. With the Wales-born brunette Ellis (Rush) , Lucifer is taking a darker turn as the original comic book character was modeled after music icon, David Bowie. The pilot was written by Kapinos and directed by Len Wiseman (Sleepy Hollow).

According to Comic Book Resources, the footage presents Lucifer (Ellis) as he finds himself in a confrontation on the streets of Los Angeles against an angel. Lucifer explains how his powers exactly work on mere mortals.

To Interview, Ellis reveals what his family thinks of the upcoming Fox drama, "They haven't seen it yet; they've seen the trailer. They're all thrilled that I'm doing it. It's already thrown up a bit of debate, this show. I think the people that take the show in the spirit it's meant to be received will get the most out of it. Anyone that's predicting it's going to be something before even seeing it is a bit foolish, in my view. The show certainly is not a big theological debate. More than anything, I'd say this show is a story of redemption. Obviously one of our main source materials was the graphic novel that it was based on."

Check out what Twitter had to say about the Lucifer pilot after watching a special screening at the recent New York Comic Con:

Lucifer premieres on Fox Janiary 25, 2016.

Readers, are you excited to see Lucifer?
