Miss Colombia Ariana Gutierrez is speaking out nearly a month after being accidentally crowned Miss Universe at the end of the pageant competition by Steve Harvey's mistake, before having her crown removed and given to Miss Philippines. Gutierrez revealed the experience was 'humiliating' not just for her, but also for Latin America.

Gutierrez, 22, told Colombia's W radio, "It will be forever on the video that the Miss Universe was Colombia and I felt the same even though it lasted just three to four minutes."

"It was a very big injustice. It was humiliating for me and for all people in Latin America in the auditorium. I have been disconnected, I haven't received any phone calls, just a few people have been able to contact me and it is because I needed to grieve for what happened that night."

Gutierrez adds that it had always been her dream to be crowned Miss Universe for her family and her country of Colombia, but adds she must continue on with her life after the incident.

How did such a mix up happen? Simple human error. The world watched as Steve Harvey announced Miss Colombia as Miss Universe, before stating four minutes later that he had announced the wrong winner.

Harvey stated, "Folks, I have to apologize. The first runner-up is Colombia."

Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach appeared stunned as she realized what had happened.

Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega patted Gutierrez on the back before removing the crown and placing it on Miss Philippines' head.

Harvey held up the card announcing the order of finishers for Fox network cameras to see up close afterward. He said he re-read the card and realized it said "first runner-up" next to the Colombia contestant's name before he asked producers if he had made a mistake.

The host spoke with reporters after the show, stating, "Nobody feels worse about this than me."
